Two markets to take place simultaneously in Vecumnieki on Saturday – an autumn fair and a retro tech market

On Saturday, September 12, two events will take place at the same time in Vecumnieki, by Jaunais Lake: an Autumn Fair and a Retro Technology and Antiques Market. According to organizers, by Wednesday, September 9, more than 80 traders had already registered to take part, coming from various parts of Latvia as well as from Lithuania. Registration for traders remains open until the afternoon of Friday, September 11, so the final number of participants could still grow.

Traders are set to travel to Vecumnieki from across Latvia, from the Liepāja area all the way to Daugavpils. A significant share of participants will also be craftsmen and small producers from Bauska municipality.

What the Autumn Fair offers

At the Autumn Fair, visitors will be able to buy smoked goods, fish and meat products, and plants, as well as handmade craft items such as woodcarvings, leather goods, belts, jewelry and textiles. Organizers also mention some unusual offerings, including yellow watermelons grown in Latvia and hockey fan jerseys.

Retro Technology and Antiques Market

Running alongside it, the Retro Technology and Antiques Market will bring together dealers in antiques, collectors and enthusiasts of vintage technology. Visitors will be able to browse and buy various historical items, retro objects and equipment, as well as add to their own collections.

Food and drinks will also be available on site. Organizers say the market will offer plenty of variety, so every visitor should be able to find something of interest.

Traders wishing to take part in the Autumn Fair can register by phone or email, while registration for the Retro Technology and Antiques Market uses separate contact details. A single trading spot measures 3 by 3 meters and costs 15 euros.
