VEF Rīga suffer defeat to Polish side in FIBA Champions League qualifying

Latvian basketball club VEF Rīga fell short in their second FIBA Champions League qualifying match, held in the Bulgarian city of Samokov, going down 95:102 to Poland's Dziki Warszawa.

Jordan Sears was the standout performer for the Riga side, scoring 29 points and adding five assists. It marked the second consecutive game in which the American guard showed sharp shooting form, but his output was not enough to secure a win for his team.

The loss is VEF Rīga's second setback of the qualifying stage, making the club's path to the main FIBA Champions League tournament more difficult.
