In Riga, on July 30, a store security guard has come before the court, who, according to the prosecution, was collecting information for Russian intelligence services under the guise of his daily job. On Wednesday, July 29, the guard arrived at the courtroom in handcuffs. The man has a previous criminal record.

He is charged not only with espionage but also with hooliganism and robbery. The prosecution maintains that the guard's work at the store was merely a cover for his true activities – gathering information favorable to Russia.

The victim in this case has been identified as a journalist from the program "Nekā personīga." Further details about the circumstances of the case are not yet being disclosed. The trial continues.
