Thousands of fans greet Wakefield Trinity after Super League title win
Thousands of rugby league supporters turned out in Wakefield for an open-top bus parade celebrating Trinity's Super League Grand Final victory, the club's first title since 1968.

Thousands of rugby league supporters packed the streets of Wakefield on Saturday for an open-top bus parade celebrating Wakefield Trinity's Super League championship win.
Trinity defeated Warrington Wolves 23-10 in the Grand Final, securing their first top-flight title since 1968, long before the Super League era began. Two buses carrying players and staff travelled from the club's Belle Vue ground to Wakefield Town Hall, where a civic reception was held. The buses arrived at the town hall in the mid-afternoon, with crowds lining the route to cheer the team on.
Fullback Max Jowitt, who has made 188 appearances for the club and scored three goals in the final, described the parade as an incredible experience, praising the fans, the city and the trophy itself.
Scenes of celebration
Among the crowd were long-time supporters and younger fans alike. One woman, who became a Trinity follower through her late husband's lifelong support for the club, said the Grand Final at Old Trafford had been an extraordinary experience with an electric atmosphere. With the win, Wakefield became only the sixth club to lift the Super League title.
A young fan wearing a tri-coloured wig given to him by his grandfather recalled the roar of the crowd each time Trinity scored, while his mother called the whole experience amazing. Another fan who attended with her son described feeling ecstatic, noting that the achievement had been years in the making, while a family that came together to watch the parade echoed similar excitement.
A supporter who has followed the club since childhood said he had lived through both good times and bad with Trinity, adding that the club was now back among the game's elite.
Following the town hall reception, a free, ticketed fan event took place nearby, featuring player appearances, speeches and big-screen highlights from the Grand Final.
