Real Betis secured a 1-0 away victory over Valencia in a Spanish league match.

In the first half, both sides created several chances, combining for 13 shots on goal — eight from Betis and five from Valencia. However, none of the attempts were particularly dangerous, as reflected in the low expected goals (xG) figures: 0.19 for Betis and 0.24 for Valencia. The first half ended goalless, 0-0.

The start of the second half also produced little in the way of clear chances, but the game turned in the 82nd minute when 20-year-old midfielder Pablo García scored the only goal of the match, securing the win for Real Betis.

Standings impact

With the victory, Real Betis climbed to second place in the overall standings with two wins from two matches, trailing only Sevilla, who also have two wins but a better goal difference. Valencia, meanwhile, sit in 15th place with just one point from two games.
