The death toll from the Venezuela earthquakes has risen to 1,430, with at least 3,238 injured and 50,000 missing, according to authorities and UN data.

Venezuela's National Assembly speaker Jorge Rodríguez announced on Saturday that the death toll from Wednesday's earthquakes has increased to 1,430, while at least 3,238 people are injured. According to UN data, more than 50,000 people remain missing.
The earthquakes destroyed or partially damaged hundreds of buildings. On Wednesday evening, two quakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 struck near the coastal city of Morón, followed by approximately 30 aftershocks. A state of emergency has been declared in the country.
The hardest-hit states include Trujillo, Carabobo, Miranda, and La Guaira.
