Health insurance technology startup Angle Health announced Friday that it has closed a $200 million Series C funding round, pushing its valuation to $2.7 billion. The company also arranged a separate $400 million tender offer, giving employees the chance to sell a portion of their shares.

The funding round was led by Vitruvian Partners, with additional participation from Town Hall Ventures, Blumberg Capital, Portage Ventures, PruVen Capital, and Y Combinator. Angle Health expects the round to officially close later this month.

Founded in 2019, Angle Health is an alum of Y Combinator's winter 2020 cohort. The company specializes in helping small businesses obtain and manage what are known as "level-funded" health insurance plans — an arrangement positioned between fully insured plans, where carriers bear all risk, and self-funded plans, where businesses cover costs directly and face unpredictable expenses. Under level-funded plans, businesses make steady, predictable payments while remaining protected against unusually high costs, and can potentially recoup a share of savings if actual expenses come in lower than expected.

According to the company, this model can make health coverage more affordable for smaller employers. Angle Health's platform uses artificial intelligence to help businesses select and manage their plans, and integrates directly with payroll and HR software systems.

The startup reports serving more than 5,000 businesses and says it is currently profitable. Its raise stands out in a funding environment where large late-stage rounds increasingly flow toward AI agent startups rather than companies founded years earlier in other sectors.
