"Bite Latvija" customer service center burgled in Riga during storm

At around 1 a.m., an unidentified individual forced entry into the "Maxima" shopping center on Andreja Saharova iela 20a in Riga by breaking through the building's entrance doors. From there, the intruder headed to the "Bite Latvija" customer service outlet, smashed the store's glass doors, and stole several electronic devices.

According to information from the company, the entire crime took only about five minutes. The State Police were notified immediately and have opened an investigation. "Bite Latvija" says it is cooperating with law enforcement and is currently working to determine exactly which devices were taken and the extent of the financial damage.

Break-in coincided with storm cleanup efforts

Hermanis Eriņš, head of the company's internal security processes, noted that the burglary occurred at a particularly inappropriate moment — while emergency and other responsible services across the country were working to address the damage caused by the severe storm and to assist residents. He described the act as especially cynical and thanked police for their swift involvement, expressing hope that the circumstances would be clarified soon.

"Bite Latvija" confirmed that the customer service center is already being restored to operation, and that the company is doing everything possible to ensure the incident does not affect the availability or quality of service provided to customers.
