Even Realities has launched the G2 smart glasses, taking a different path from competitors like Meta by omitting cameras and speakers entirely. Instead, the glasses feature a monochrome heads-up display that shows green text and information, reminiscent of a neon sign. The company's goal is to prioritize productivity and ensure people around the wearer don't worry about being recorded.

Design-wise, the glasses are lightweight at 35 grams, with a magnesium alloy frame and titanium alloy temples. The lenses have built-in UV protection, making them useful even as regular sunglasses. Battery life is claimed to last up to two days on a single charge, and the included case can recharge them seven times before needing a power source.

Key features include real-time translation, turn-by-turn navigation, a teleprompter, and an AI assistant. In testing, translation worked well enough to follow conversations in Chinese, but the navigation app had issues with accuracy. The AI assistant often misunderstood commands, especially outdoors, and the display lacks automatic brightness adjustment.

The company also offers the R1 ring ($249), which can control the glasses and track health metrics like heart rate and sleep. However, the ring isn't essential since the glasses already have touch controls on the temples.

Priced at $599, the G2 is aimed at professionals who attend many meetings or travel frequently. While the hardware is solid, the everyday use case remains niche. Even Realities recently achieved unicorn status and is working on expanding third-party app support.
