Athlete Viktor Morozov: European Championships in Birmingham will be the climax of the season
Estonian athletes Viktor Morozov and Pippi Lotta Enok competed at the Estonian Cup in Jõhvi, preparing for the European Championships. Morozov showed consistent results in triple jump, while Enok is focusing on recovery after a series of injuries.

The Estonian Athletics Cup in Jõhvi served as a test for Ida-Virumaa native Viktor Morozov and last year's best Estonian athlete Pippi Lotta Enok ahead of the European Championships. Morozov, who returned to Estonia two weeks ago after studying and training in the United States, used the competition as part of his preparation for the main event of the season. In the triple jump, he delivered a consistent series, clearing the 16-meter mark in all attempts, but a strong tailwind prevented some results from being officially counted. "The climax of this season will be the European Championships in Birmingham. Currently, I qualify by ranking. Before that, I will compete at the Estonian Championships in Pärnu, and possibly next week at the U-23 Estonian Championships in Rakvere as a training session," Morozov said. He expressed gratitude to his coaches in the US and Estonia for their support. Meanwhile, Enok made her season debut in Jõhvi. She tried javelin throw and the 200 meters, but after a string of injuries, her priority is assessing her health condition. "This year has been quite difficult health-wise: injuries piled up like a snowball. As soon as I started returning to training, something new would appear. When an injury hinders you, you can't give your maximum in training. You start looking for compromises, reduce the load, and it all accumulates," Enok explained. She admitted that taking a break has crossed her mind, but such decisions are made with her team and coach. The European Athletics Championships will take place in Birmingham, England, from August 10 to 16.
