Latvia's passenger rail company, operating under the brand "Vivi", will deploy longer train formations on the Riga–Sigulda route this weekend. The change is linked to the Unity Ride, a cycling event that will take place over the weekend and is expected to increase passenger numbers.

Updated schedule

On Saturday, September 5, a four-carriage train will depart Riga for Sigulda at 18:30.

On Sunday, September 6, several departures will be affected. Four-carriage trains will leave Riga for Sigulda at 8:00 and 11:00, while five-carriage trains will depart at 9:30 and 20:30. In the opposite direction, from Sigulda to Riga, four-carriage trains will run at 6:52, 9:29 and 12:29, with a five-carriage train departing at 19:16.

Company performance

As previously reported, "Pasažieru vilciens" carried a total of 21.333 million passengers in 2025, up 9.7% from the previous year. The company's turnover last year reached €67.345 million, an increase of 3.6%, though profit fell by 21.7% to €978,962.
