Czech league action saw several matches today featuring Latvian footballers. Defender Oskars Vientiess made his debut for FK Teplice, playing the entire match in a 3-1 home victory over Prague's Bohemians. The 23-year-old, acquired from Latvian club Metta, performed his duties well. Former Czech youth international Matej Pulkrab scored twice for Teplice.

Meanwhile, striker Raimonds Krollis came off the bench in the 75th minute for Liberec's Slovan and contributed to a surprising win over last season's bronze medalists Viktoria Plzen. Shortly after Krollis entered the pitch, 20-year-old Nigerian Afolabi Soliu put Liberec ahead, and Slovak youngster Patrik Dulaj sealed the win in the dying seconds. This was Liberec's first away victory against Viktoria since March 2024.

In Scotland, Premier League side Falkirk defeated fourth-tier Stranraer 3-0 in the final group stage match of the Scottish League Cup, but finished second in the group and were eliminated. Falkirk midfielder Deniss Meļņiks, 23, played the full 90 minutes and had one shot early in the second half.
