The company "Pasažieru vilciens" has announced that in the first half of 2026, it transported 10.1 million passengers by train. This is a decrease of 0.3% or 32,000 compared to the first six months of 2025.

The decline is slight and reflects a minor drop from the previous year. The company did not provide an explanation for this change.

According to the information provided, the data covers all routes operated by "Pasažieru vilciens" across the country. Rail passenger transport is a vital part of Latvia's public transport system, and small fluctuations between years are common.

Overall, these figures indicate stable demand for train services, despite a slight decrease this year.
