Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih defense council, stated on social media that intelligence data suggests Russia may be preparing further strikes on large shopping centers in frontline cities, including Kryvyi Rih.

According to Vilkul, the enemy has already struck two large shopping complexes in Kryvyi Rih — "Epicentr" and "Solnyachna Galereya." He said intelligence indicates similar attacks could target other large shopping centers in frontline cities as well.

Appeal to residents

The defense council head urged residents to avoid visiting large shopping centers altogether. If that is not possible, he advised choosing only centers where owners have built and equipped shelters, and to go there when an air raid alert is announced.

Background

On August 21, Russian forces struck a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih twice with drones. The attacks killed 16 people and injured 130 others, including 23 children. It later emerged that nine more people, including two children, were reported missing following the strikes.

On August 22, the manager of one of the supermarkets in the Kryvyi Rih shopping center was notified of suspicion for keeping the store open during an air raid alert.
