Vilnius-based basketball club Rytas has unveiled its financial plan for the upcoming season, projecting expenses of €10.535 million and revenues of €10.765 million.

Last season's results

Rytas had a mixed season on the court last year. The club won the FIBA Champions League title but lost to Kaunas Žalgiris in the Lithuanian Cup final. In the Lithuanian championship, the team suffered a setback, losing 0-2 to Utena Juventus in the quarterfinals and finishing the season in fifth place.

Financially, the previous season was a success for the club, which posted a profit of €980,000. Expenses slightly exceeded €7 million, while revenues topped €8 million, both surpassing the club's pre-season forecast of €6.8 million in revenue and €6.6 million in expenses.

Breakdown of the new season's spending

The largest share of the upcoming season's budget — €5.32 million — will go toward player and coaching staff salaries. Game organization is expected to cost €1.835 million, administrative expenses €1.525 million, and team-related costs €1.42 million. Youth team development will receive €435,000.

By comparison, rival club Žalgiris Kaunas had forecast a considerably larger budget of €21.7 million ahead of last season, of which €14.4 million was allocated to player and staff salaries.
