False Bomb Threats Trigger Evacuations at Lithuanian Businesses and Emergency Services
On Friday, several locations in Vilnius and Kaunas were evacuated after email bomb threats were received. Police found no explosives and determined the threats were false.

A series of bomb threats sent via email prompted evacuations at several sites in Vilnius and Kaunas on Friday. Police received reports that the emails threatened explosions at various locations. Around 11:00 AM, a possible bomb threat was reported at the high-tech group Teltonika, leading to the evacuation of employees while officers searched the premises. Similar threatening emails were also sent to emergency medical services and an office building in the two cities.
Police stated that no explosives were found during the searches and no actual danger was identified. Authorities are now gathering evidence to open a pre-trial investigation on suspicion of making a false report about a public danger or disaster, in accordance with Lithuania’s Criminal Code.
