Arthur Fery, the British wildcard ranked 114th in the world, continued his remarkable Wimbledon campaign with a 6-4, 7-6 (7/4), 6-0 victory over French Open runner-up Flavio Cobolli on Wednesday. He became the first wildcard to reach the men's singles semifinals since Goran Ivanisevic won the title in 2001. Fery is the third-lowest ranked man since 1985 to reach the Wimbledon semifinals, after Vladimir Voltchkov (237th in 2000) and Ivanisevic (125th in 2001).

In Friday's semifinal, Fery will face German second seed Alexander Zverev, who defeated sixth seed Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. Zverev snapped a seven-match losing streak against Fritz to reach his first Wimbledon semifinal in nine attempts. He is only the third German man in the Open era to reach the last four at all Grand Slam tournaments, after Boris Becker and Michael Stich.

On the women's side, Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk, the 12th seed, cruised past former Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2 in 69 minutes. She will face Czech ninth seed Linda Noskova in Thursday's semifinal. Noskova reached her first Grand Slam semifinal with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Belgian 25th seed Elise Mertens. Kostyuk won their only previous meeting in the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open earlier this year.
