After weeks of uncertainty, Vinícius has decided to commit his future to Real Madrid. The Brazilian forward reached an agreement with the club after talks held on Tuesday, according to reports. Previously, it was suggested he could leave the Spanish capital either this summer, joining the English champions, or next summer as a free agent. The player was reportedly seeking a better contract and was not satisfied with Real's earlier proposals.

Social media reports claimed that Arsenal had offered Vinícius one of the most lucrative packages in Premier League history, including the chance to become the face of the league and compete for the Ballon d'Or. However, after the meeting with Real Madrid, the forward chose to stay.

Vinícius returned to Madrid on Monday following his post-World Cup holiday. He passed medical tests and took part in his first training session under coach José Mourinho.

During his eight years at Real Madrid, since joining from Brazil for €45 million, the attacker has scored 128 goals in 375 appearances. For the Brazilian national team, he has netted 13 times in 54 matches.
