Men in Latvia increasingly opt for botulinum toxin injections – not only for aesthetics
Although botulinum toxin injections are traditionally associated with women, men are also using them for wrinkle reduction and medical purposes such as treating headaches and excessive sweating.

Dermatologist Aleksejs Zavorins from "Health Center 4" notes that today botulinum toxin injections are chosen not only by women but also by a growing number of men. While 80–90% of patients are still women, the proportion of male patients is gradually increasing.
The specialist emphasizes that botulinum toxin is not a filler but a medication that blocks nerve signals to muscles or sweat glands. It is most commonly used to reduce expression wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes, but it also serves medical purposes – for headaches, overactive chewing muscles, and excessive sweating.
Men often seek a less angry or tense appearance, which is why they opt for these injections. Zavorins points out that the procedure is not purely cosmetic – it also helps address health issues.
