Võru Mayor Urmas Tali Officially Joins Centre Party
Urmas Tali, elected mayor of Võru at the end of May, officially became a member of the Centre Party in mid-June.

Urmas Tali, who was elected mayor of Võru at the end of May, officially joined the Centre Party in mid-June. According to the Commercial Register, Tali became a party member on June 11.
Previously unaffiliated, Tali assumed office as a representative of the Centre Party. In the 2025 municipal elections, he received 230 votes and entered the Võru City Council on the Centre Party list. In December 2025, he became chairman of the city council, and after a change in coalition, he was elected mayor.
The new coalition in Võru consists of the Centre Party, Isamaa, EKRE, and the Reform Party.
In sports circles, Tali is known as a volleyball coach. He has coached teams in Võru (1998–2005, 2010–2011), Tartu "Pere Leib" (2005–2008), "Pärnu" (2011–2014), "Rakvere" (2014–2017), and "Saaremaa" (2017–2019). From 2008 to 2010, he coached the Finnish top-tier club "Riento". His teams have won the Estonian championship twice (2006, 2018) and the Baltic League twice (2017, 2018). Since 2020, he has served as the sports director of the Võru volleyball club "Barrus".
