Vivi train tickets can now be validated via mobile app

Starting August 13, passengers of "Vivi" trains gained a new option for validating their electronic tickets — directly through a smartphone. Validation is now available in two apps: "Vivi Latvija" and "Mobilly".

This means that after boarding a train, passengers no longer have to visit a ticket validator or conductor — the ticket can be confirmed on the phone as soon as the passenger steps into the carriage.

Old options still available

The company noted that the previously existing validation methods will remain in place — passengers can still validate tickets at a station validator or with a conductor on board. The new mobile validation is thus an additional option rather than a replacement, letting passengers choose whichever method suits them best.
