Vivo rolls out X Fold 6 globally, betting big on camera hardware
Vivo has launched its X Fold 6 foldable phone outside China, standing out mainly for its large camera sensor while keeping a more traditional foldable shape.

Vivo has begun selling its X Fold 6 foldable smartphone outside China, months after it debuted domestically in June. While the device looked unremarkable at its Chinese launch, its size and shape now appear somewhat dated on the global stage, since both Apple and Samsung have since shifted their latest foldables toward a shorter, wider design.
Familiar proportions
The X Fold 6 keeps roughly the same dimensions as Vivo's earlier foldables. Its 6.51-inch cover screen uses the standard 20:9 smartphone aspect ratio, unfolding into an almost square 8.02-inch main display. The crease along the fold is more visible than on some rival devices, and its IP59 water-resistance rating is solid, though not top-tier.
Camera as the main selling point
Where the phone stands out is its camera system. The main sensor measures 1/1.4 inches and offers 200 megapixels, making it one of the largest sensors found in any foldable phone, trailing only Huawei's offerings. It's paired with 50-megapixel telephoto and ultrawide cameras that also look promising on paper.
The device also features a 6,900mAh battery and runs on a custom "Super Edition" version of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. Vivo has not yet disclosed pricing or the specific markets where the X Fold 6 will be sold internationally.
