Sources differ on the exact starting time: Przegląd Sportowy states no time has been announced, while SportoweFakty reports that CEV has not yet officially confirmed it but the match will most likely start around 3:00 p.m.
Road to the quarter-final
Poland finished the group stage unbeaten, defeating Hungary, Latvia, Slovenia, Germany and Turkey. In the round of 16 the "White-and-Reds" beat Portugal 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-23) — in the third set they trailed for a long stretch before Martyna Czyrniańska sparked the comeback and Julia Szczurowska took charge in the decisive moments. The Netherlands, meanwhile, eliminated Slovenia 3-2 in the round of 16. The two sides already met this season in the Nations League, where Poland won 3-1.
Squad news
According to Interia Sport, 19-year-old middle blocker Maja Koput, who has already become a key player in her debut senior season, has been playing with her shoulder taped for several matches. She describes it as an overuse injury and stresses that it is under the medical staff's control. Wing-spiker Monika Lampkowska has played with similar taping since the start of the tournament after struggling with shoulder problems before the flight to Turkey. Team statistician Kacper Duda said before the Portugal match that there were no serious health issues in the squad, apart from Aleksandra Szczygłowska, who had to leave the team due to an infection.
