Volkswagen launches extended-length ID. Buzz Cargo LWB from €48,490

Volkswagen has expanded its ID. Buzz Cargo electric van range with a long-wheelbase LWB variant. On the German market, this version costs approximately €2,340 more than the standard-length model.

Larger dimensions

The new version's wheelbase has been extended by 25 centimeters compared to the standard model, reaching 3.25 meters, while the vehicle's overall length is 4.96 meters. These changes have increased cargo volume from 3.9 to 4.4 cubic meters, with a floor area now measuring 2.46 by 1.23 meters.

Drivetrain and payload

The long version comes with an 86 kWh battery and a 210 kW electric motor in its rear-wheel-drive configuration, with an all-wheel-drive 4MOTION variant also available, delivering a combined 250 kW of power. The rear-wheel-drive model's maximum payload is 700 kilograms, while the 4MOTION version carries up to 606 kilograms. Both versions can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1,800 kilograms.

Practical improvements

Standard equipment includes a wider sliding side door, with its opening widened by 19 centimeters, allowing a Euro pallet to be loaded through it. The van features a wooden cargo floor and a rear liftgate as standard, while rear barn doors are available as an option. Two- or three-seat configurations are offered.

The new version also incorporates the latest ID. Buzz technologies, including One-Pedal Driving mode, an updated Innovision infotainment system, and the Travel Assist system, which can respond to traffic light signals. A V2L function is also available, allowing external electric devices to be powered from the vehicle's battery.

In Germany, the rear-wheel-drive ID. Buzz Cargo LWB starts at €48,490 excluding VAT, while the 4MOTION version starts at €50,630 excluding VAT.
