Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has called for patience during what he describes as a 'slow' summer transfer window. The Championship club, which is set to travel to the United States later this month for three pre-season games, has yet to secure any new additions.

Parkinson indicated that further departures from the Stok Cae Ras are expected following last month's exit of striker Paul Mullin. 'As ever it's patience, making sure we can hold our nerve to get the right players in who we feel can make a difference,' Parkinson told BBC Sport Wales.

Wrexham will face Leeds in Tampa on Sunday, 26 July, followed by matches against Liverpool in New York and Sunderland in Pennsylvania. 'I'd love to be able to be taking a couple of new signings on that tour. If it happens, great, if it doesn't then we'll work like we did when we were in Australia [last year],' Parkinson added.

Fan favourite Mullin left the club by mutual consent, while midfielder Tom O'Connor completed a permanent move to Peterborough United. 'Of course, along that journey players are going to have to go because of numbers which we've worked on with Paul going,' Parkinson noted. 'Mo Faal has signed for Port Vale on a year's loan and one or two others need to go out as well.'
