VUGD Rescues Lost Person in Forest in Valka Municipality

Rescuers from the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) successfully located and rescued a person who had lost their way in a forest in Valka Parish, Valka Municipality, on Monday. The emergency call was received at 12:49 PM. Using a sound signal from a water tanker and an unmanned aerial vehicle, the team found the individual, escorted them out of the woods, and handed them over to the State Police. The operation concluded at 3:04 PM.

Over the past 24 hours, VUGD responded to a total of 45 calls: eight for fires, 28 for rescue operations, and nine that turned out to be false alarms. Among the fires, a cargo truck, unattended scorched food, a car, trash, and tires were reported burning.
