Wallhack M-001 Gaming Mouse With Metal Shell and Swappable Battery Scores 9 out of 10
Tech outlet Wired has rated the Wallhack M-001 gaming mouse 9 out of 10. The mouse stands out for its magnesium shell, quickly swappable battery and a wireless dongle with physical dials.

Henri Robbins, a reviewer at the technology outlet Wired, has published a review of the Wallhack M-001, a computer mouse designed for gaming, and gave it 9 out of 10. The review stresses that a device's value depends not only on its specifications but also on how enjoyable it is to use.
Shell and shape
The mouse has a magnesium shell, which is more rigid than the plastic shells found on most mice. It weighs 53.6 grams, slightly more than the Razer Viper V4 Pro (50.3 grams) and well above the Corsair Sabre V2 Pro Ultralight (36 grams). Unlike some other magnesium mice, its upper shell is a single piece with no cutouts. The shape is a right-handed symmetrical design, 120 mm long, with a front end that sits lower than competing models. The reviewer names the higher-set scroll wheel as the only shape-related drawback.
Battery and dongle
The underside has no bottom shell, leaving the circuit board exposed; the board also serves as a structural part of the mouse. The battery can be replaced using a spring-loaded ejector similar to an SD card slot. The trade-off is the absence of a USB-C port: the mouse works only over 2.4 GHz wireless, so if the battery or dongle fails, there is no other way to use it.
The dongle is a metal wedge with two dials. One sets sensitivity (DPI) from 400 to 25,600, and the other sets the polling rate from 125 to 8,000 Hz. The reviewer used them in games such as Marvel Rivals and Destiny 2. A spare battery charges in a slot on the dongle.
Sensor and software
The mouse uses a Pixart PAW3950 sensor, which the Razer Viper V2 Pro also used in 2022, so the reviewer calls it slightly outdated but reliable enough. The main buttons use Omron optical switches. Settings are managed in a browser-based client, Wallhack Terminal, which has a text-based interface.
The reviewer lists the high price and the lack of Bluetooth among the downsides.
