Wearable maker Whoop will now let all users access its Advanced Labs blood testing feature without an extra subscription. The company also added the Galleri multi-cancer early detection test to the program.

Fitness wearable company Whoop has announced that its Advanced Labs feature no longer requires a separate subscription to use. Previously, access to the blood-testing health screenings was limited to members paying for an additional tier, but now any Whoop user can opt into the service.

The screenings themselves, conducted through Quest Diagnostics, still cost money — starting around $150 per test — but the barrier of a required membership has been removed. The tests can provide insight into a user's cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal and inflammatory health.

Whoop also said it has expanded its Advanced Labs offerings by adding Galleri, a multi-cancer early detection test, to the portfolio.

The move comes as competition in the screenless fitness tracker market has intensified in recent months, with Garmin and Google's Fitbit both entering the space. By making its health data services more broadly accessible, Whoop appears to be working to keep existing customers engaged with its product line.
