WiCi One: wireless external GPU brings high-end gaming power over Wi-Fi 7
WiCi has opened preorders for the WiCi One, a wireless external GPU that connects to laptops and other devices over Wi-Fi 7 instead of cables, starting at $1,999 with shipments expected in the fourth quarter.
WiCi has unveiled the WiCi One, an external graphics processor designed to let slim laptops and other devices access high-end GPU power without being tethered by cables. Unlike most existing eGPU solutions that rely on Thunderbolt or OCuLink connections, the WiCi One communicates wirelessly using the Wi-Fi 7 standard.
Hardware inside
The device houses a dedicated graphics card, a Wi-Fi 7 wireless module and its own cooling system within a single shell. The base configuration includes an Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of memory, an Intel Core 3 100U processor and 1TB of NVMe storage. WiCi also plans a more powerful version featuring an Nvidia RTX 5090 with 32GB of memory, an Intel Core Ultra 7 225H processor and up to 4TB of NVMe 5 storage.
Performance claims and pricing
According to WiCi, the base RTX 5060 Ti model can run Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra settings with DLSS 4 at around 80 frames per second, and Black Myth: Wukong at 4K Cinematic settings with DLSS 4 at around 60 frames per second. Beyond gaming, the company is marketing the device for demanding AI workloads, including running local AI assistants.
The base WiCi One is currently available for preorder at $1,999, with the retail price set at $2,599 once it becomes generally available. WiCi expects to begin shipping the first units in the fourth quarter of this year, while pricing for the more powerful RTX 5090 variant will be announced closer to its launch.
