US technology publication Wired updated its gift guide for people who play games on personal computers in November 2025. The list covers headsets, keyboards, mice, a monitor, a gaming chair, lighting and other accessories chosen with holiday gift shopping in mind.

What the outlet recommends

Wired names the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3P Wireless as the best wireless gaming headset. Reviewer Brad Bourque called it the most comfortable gaming headset he has tested. For keyboards, the guide suggests the compact Asus ROG Falchion Ace HFX, which has a 65% layout, and the Keychron Q5 HE and Q6 HE, which use Hall effect switches. These are magnetic rather than mechanical switches.

Among mice, the guide lists the Razer Viper V3 Pro, described as light and well suited to smaller hands, and the Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless SE, which has 12 side buttons and is aimed at massively multiplayer online games and fast-paced shooters. The monitor pick is the AOC Q27G4XN, which costs $150 and offers a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 180 Hz refresh rate.

The list also includes the Razer Iskur V2 gaming chair, the BenQ ScreenBar Pro desk light with a motion sensor, a Govee light strip, Audioengine A2+ computer speakers, the HyperX Quadcast 2 S USB microphone, the Elgato Stream Deck+ control panel, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally handheld console and the SteelSeries QcK mousepad.

Shopping advice

The outlet advises simply asking the gamer which mouse, keyboard or headset brand they prefer if the buyer is unsure. A Steam gift card is suggested as a safe universal choice, since it can be spent on games in an online store. Most popular titles cost about $60, which the guide proposes as a baseline for the card's value.

The authors take a cautious view of gaming chairs. They say nobody needs one, but the Razer Iskur V2 is the best choice for those who like the look. Cited drawbacks are weak heat management and a seat depth that cannot be adjusted.
