Wooting 60HE v2 Review: Near-Perfect Gaming Keyboard

The Wooting 60HE v2 is hailed as one of the best gaming keyboards available, offering exceptional performance, customization, and repairability, though it lacks wireless connectivity.

The Wooting 60HE v2 has received high praise from tech outlet Wired, which calls it one of the best gaming keyboards on the market. Its standout feature is SOCD (Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Direction) customization, which allows one key to override another rather than registering both simultaneously. This is ideal for strafing in tactical shooters like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant, providing a noticeable speed advantage. However, the feature has been banned in some competitive games due to the near-zero delay it offers without requiring additional skill.

The keyboard's Lekker switches are incredibly smooth and consistent, delivering low-latency, precise inputs. RGB lighting is bright and highly customizable, with a slight blue tint easily corrected in software.

Repairability is a major plus. The simple internal design allows disassembly in seconds while maintaining solid construction. Switch compatibility is broad, supporting Gateron, Geon, and others thanks to the KS-20 standard, outpacing competitors like Keychron, Razer, and ROG.

Drawbacks include the USB-C port placement on the left side (standard GH60) and the lack of wireless connectivity. While a centered port would be preferable, standardization benefits outweigh this minor design issue.

The keyboard is currently backordered and priced at $240. Despite that, it is considered worth the wait for those who value performance and customization.
