Xiaomi to launch electric cars in Europe from 2027
Chinese tech company Xiaomi has announced it will start selling electric vehicles in Germany from 2027, having already signed cooperation agreements with local dealer groups. Germany will become one of Xiaomi's first European markets.
Chinese company Xiaomi, best known for smartphones and consumer electronics, is preparing its next step — entering the European car market. According to German media, the company plans to start offering its electric vehicles in Germany from 2027.
Partnering with local dealers
During the IFA trade show in Berlin, Xiaomi signed letters of intent with eight major German automotive retail groups. These partners will be responsible not only for selling the vehicles but also for building a service and customer support network, signaling that Xiaomi intends to establish a lasting presence rather than a one-off market entry.
Rapid growth so far
Xiaomi only entered the car business in 2024, but has already achieved notable results. Its electric models SU7 and YU7 have become highly popular in China, and by September 2026 Xiaomi Auto had delivered more than 700,000 vehicles.
The company now hopes to replicate that success in Europe, with Germany set to become one of its first European markets. Its choice to team up with experienced local dealers suggests Xiaomi is aiming not just to sell cars, but to build a long-term foothold in the European automotive market.
