Zabusov: In 3x3 hockey I could let out my demons
Latvia's 3x3 hockey team won two matches on the first day of the '8 Nations Cup', and Patriks Zabusovs shared his impressions of the tournament and his participation in an on-ice fighting show.

Latvia's 3x3 hockey team has started the '8 Nations Cup' successfully, winning against Estonia (5:2) and Finland (10:6) on the first day. Forward Patriks Zabusov stood out by scoring the final goal in the last second against Finland, and after the games he shared his thoughts on the differences between 3x3 and traditional hockey.
Zabusov emphasized that the 3x3 format is completely different – players need to adjust speed and playing style. He praised the ban on body checking, noting that it protects players from injuries in summer and emphasizes skill. However, he admitted that the instinct to play along the boards is sometimes hard to suppress.
During the breaks, spectators were treated to an additional show – 'Glove Off' fights on ice, in which Zabusov unexpectedly participated and won. He described it as a new and positive experience that allowed him to release negative energy and let out his 'demons' in one-on-one combat.
Latvia has already secured a spot in the semifinals, but will play their final group game against the Czech Republic tomorrow at 10:30 AM. Zabusov stated that the team feels like favorites, especially playing at home, and hopes the stands will be even more crowded.
