Tallinn football club Levadia has announced that head coach Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko will continue to lead the team in the 2027 season, according to the club's official website. The decision concerns Estonia's top football league, in which Levadia won the championship title this year.

Zahovaiko has been head coach since January 2026, and this was his first season in the role. The team became Estonian champions in 2026, claiming the club's 12th title in its history. The title was secured six rounds before the end of the season.

The coach's comments

Zahovaiko said he was glad the partnership would continue. He described the season as incredible and said the team had achieved the main goal set at the start of the year. He thanked the players and all staff, stressing that the title was a shared achievement of players, coaches, staff, management and fans.

He said a solid foundation had been laid for further success. In the coming season, the team wants to keep developing, defend the championship title and take the next step on the European stage.

Career path

At the end of 2024, Zahovaiko joined the Levadia system, taking charge of the club's U-17 team. Before that, he was head coach of Paide from 2016 to 2021, and in 2023 he led Gambian club Real de Banjul to a championship title.

As a player, Zahovaiko made 309 appearances in the Estonian top flight and scored 211 goals. He played for clubs in the Tallinn Flora system, for Kalev in Sillamäe and for Paide, but never for Levadia. For the Estonian national team he played 39 matches and scored eight goals.
