Driver with License Ban Stopped in Zaķumuiža, Shows Fake ID to Police
Ropaži municipal police in Zaķumuiža stopped a speeding car; the driver, under a driving ban, tried to deceive officers by presenting someone else's license.

While patrolling in Zaķumuiža, officers from the Ropaži municipal police observed a significant speeding violation and pulled over the vehicle. Initially, the driver attempted to mislead the police by showing a foreign driving license. After a prolonged conversation, he admitted that the document did not belong to him.
A check of his actual data revealed that the driver had a court-imposed driving ban. Most concerning, at the time of the stop, the man's partner and a young child were in the car, thus exposed to unnecessary risk.
The driver was arrested and handed over to the State Police. Two criminal proceedings have been initiated against him: one for concealing his identity to avoid criminal or administrative liability, and another for failing to comply with a court order.
