A fox living on the grounds of the Riga radio and television tower in Zaķusala met a robot dog one day in an unusual encounter, Latvijas Avīze reports. The tower is an important technology site, but it is also home to wild animals, and the episode shows that modern equipment and nature can coexist.

A visitor from the world of technology

A modern robot dog came to Zaķusala to meet the fox that lives at the tower. According to the publication, the two spent some time playing together. The curious fox even accompanied the robot dog to the car that took it away to carry out its next duties.

The fox is one of the tower's permanent four-legged residents. Its family has lived around the tower for decades.

Technology does not bother the animals

The Latvian State Radio and Television Centre (LVRTC), which operates the tower, says the presence of technology on the grounds does not disturb local animals in any way. The animals are used to the daily life of engineers and to the noise of transmitters, coolers and powerful data centres. As a result, innovations provoke genuine interest rather than fear.

The encounter was captured on video published by Latvijas Avīze.
