Zelensky calls on G7 to respond to massive Russian strikes on Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelensky expects a strong reaction from the G7 summit following a massive Russian attack overnight June 15 involving 70 missiles and 611 drones, which caused casualties and damage, including to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for a decisive response from G7 countries to Russia's massive missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities.
According to European Pravda, citing Zelensky's post on X, on the night of June 15, Russia launched 70 missiles and 611 drones against Ukraine. In the capital Kyiv, at least 28 people have been wounded and four killed so far.
The president specifically highlighted damage to the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a strike on Kharkiv that killed five rescuers, and an attack on Dnipro.
“It is very important that there is a response from the G7 countries, which are currently gathering for a summit, and that it is decisive and meaningful: more pressure on the aggressor, more aid to Ukraine with air defense, above all with anti-ballistic systems. I thank everyone who helps us protect lives,” Zelensky emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine is initiating all relevant procedures under UNESCO and other international mechanisms, demanding an “immediate and adequate response” to the Russian strike on the Lavra.
As a result of the massive attack on Kyiv, a fire broke out on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported a direct hit on the Lavra and significant damage.
Metropolitan Epifaniy, head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, posted on social media, calling the Russian strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra “another crime against humanity.”
