Zelenskyy visits damaged Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, vows response to Russia's massive attack
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected the damage at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and assured that a response to Russia's massive attack will follow. He suggested the timing was deliberate, coming after Putin's birthday congratulations to Trump.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which was damaged in Russia's massive missile strike. While surveying the destruction, he told journalists that Ukraine would respond to the attack.
When asked what he would say to Russian President Vladimir Putin after the strike, Zelenskyy replied: "We will still say it." The president expressed his belief that the Russian attack was not accidental but occurred immediately after Putin congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump on his birthday.
"He, as always, absolutely cynically congratulated the U.S. president and then launched a massive strike on Ukraine. I think it is no coincidence that for several days they were not only gathering missiles – we saw that they have sufficient forces – they waited to do it after the greeting to Trump," Zelenskyy said. Otherwise, according to him, Trump's team and the president himself would have questioned the massive strike.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the damage to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is further evidence of Russia's brutality and that Ukraine will find a way to respond.
