Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker and a NATO representative, focusing on strengthening air defense.

The main topics included increasing deliveries of Patriot interceptor missiles under the PURL program, implementing President Trump's decision in Ankara to grant Ukraine a license for Patriot production, and the so-called Drone Deal currently being worked out by both sides.

Zelenskyy noted that these initiatives have real potential and expressed hope for a swift finalization. During the meeting, he also awarded Curtis Buzzard the Order of Merit, third class.

Recall that at the NATO summit in early July, Trump announced the US would give Ukraine the right to manufacture Patriot systems. Zelenskyy later said technical work is needed after the political agreement. Media reports suggest production will likely be set up in a European country, possibly Germany.
