Zelenskyy officially dismisses Chentsov as permanent representative to EU
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree dismissing Vsevolod Chentsov as Ukraine's permanent representative to the EU after Chentsov was appointed deputy prime minister for European integration. He will be replaced by the former deputy PM Taras Kachka.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 632/2026 on July 22, dismissing Vsevolod Chentsov from the post of permanent representative to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community. The decision comes after Chentsov was appointed deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Chentsov's appointment as deputy prime minister was approved by parliament nearly a week earlier, on July 16. He succeeded Taras Kachka, who will now take over Chentsov's previous role as permanent representative to the EU. According to "European Pravda," Chentsov had been considered for the deputy prime minister position last year. President Zelenskyy personally interviewed him, but the appointment was blocked at the time due to demands from Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The European Commission wished Chentsov success in his new role and expressed hope for continued cooperation with Ukraine on its EU integration path.
