Zelenskyy sets up new unit to strike deep into Russia
Ukraine is forming new Joint Rapid Response Forces combining drones, artillery, and other capabilities for quick frontline response, while continuing strikes on Russian oil refineries causing fuel shortages.

Reports of fuel shortages are becoming increasingly common in Russia as Ukrainian strikes hit oil refineries deep inside the country. Videos posted on social media show long queues and heated arguments at gas stations.
The attacks highlight Ukraine's growing defense industry, with drones and other unmanned systems playing a central role. Kyiv's domestically produced “Flamingo” missile system has a range of 3,000 kilometers.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also announced the creation of a Joint Rapid Response Forces team. This unit will integrate drones, artillery, and other assets to “ensure the fastest possible response on the front” in the war with Russia. “It also must be a modern, technology-driven assault force,” Zelenskyy said.
