Scale of weekly attacks
According to the president, Russia used more than 2,200 attack drones, roughly 1,650 aerial bombs and 38 missiles of various types over the past week, with a significant share of the missiles being ballistic.
Overnight into September 27, residential buildings, energy facilities and other civilian infrastructure came under fire in the Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. Three people were killed in shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region, while a man died in Kyiv after a drone strike.
Appeal to the Global South
Zelensky called on China, India, Brazil, South Africa and other G20 and Global South nations to use their influence on Russia to help end the war.
This follows an earlier overnight drone attack on Kyiv's Solomianskyi district, which killed a man and sparked fires in two non-residential buildings.
