Zelensky: Russia Likely Used North Korean Missile in Strike That Killed Six Family Members Near Kryvyi Rih
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia struck the village of Radushne with a North Korean ballistic missile, killing six members of one family, including four children. He called for more air defense systems and increased pressure on Russia.
Russian forces launched a missile attack on the village of Radushne near Kryvyi Rih overnight on July 30, destroying a private home belonging to Artem and Olena Voronov. At the time of the strike, the household comprised the couple, their seven children, and an 18-month-old grandson. Artem, Olena, and four of the children were killed. The remaining family members survived.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that preliminary information indicates the attack involved a North Korean ballistic missile. "Of course, more examinations will follow, and everything will be verified, but as of now – it is a North Korean ballistic missile," Zelensky said. He condemned the strike and described it as a result of "the alliance between the Moscow scumbags and the deranged regime in North Korea" that serves to supply missiles, deploy North Korean troops near Ukraine's borders, and kill Ukrainian children.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs air defense missiles and heightened pressure on Russia, not just sympathy and condemnation from the international community. He noted that many countries have condemned the attack and expressed condolences, but stressed that concrete actions are required.
The attack on Radushne is another instance of Russian forces targeting civilian infrastructure. The alleged use of a North Korean missile raises concerns about deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.
