Zelenskyy: Russian Missiles Hit Kyiv's Pivnichnyi Bridge Four Times
Russian ballistic missiles damaged the Pivnichnyi (Northern) Bridge over the Dnipro in Kyiv overnight on 7 November, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. He added that Kyiv needs contingency transport plans.

Russian ballistic missiles struck the Pivnichnyi (Northern) Bridge in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, overnight on 6-7 November. In a video address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said six missiles were fired at the bridge and four of them hit it. The bridge over the Dnipro River is now closed to traffic in both directions, so alternative transport arrangements are being prepared for the city.
Attacks on Dnipro bridges
Zelenskyy said Russia is striking bridges across the Dnipro, from Kyiv to Zaporizhzhia. He had spoken with Prime Minister Koretskyi and Interior Minister Vyhivskyi about the situation. According to the president, Kyiv needs contingency transport plans, but there are currently not enough transport resources in reserve. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is handling the issue, hopefully together with the Kyiv City Administration.
Energy and logistics infrastructure
Zelenskyy also heard a report from Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Agency for Restoration. The president said Russia's ballistic missile campaign against Ukraine continues and that, because of a shortage of Patriot air defence systems, there have been significant strikes on energy and logistics infrastructure.
He said Ukraine currently generates more power than it consumes, but Russian strikes on distribution stations and networks have caused very significant shortages in Kyiv and other northern, eastern and central regions. The number of repair crews is being increased and they are being supplied with the necessary equipment.
Damage to the bridge
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko later reported that the road surface, trolleybus overhead wires and power lines on the bridge were damaged in the attack.
