Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on the July 8 incident in Lviv, during which a crowd attacked servicemen of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) and overturned their official vehicle. Speaking to journalists, he described the situation as "very bad" and emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable.

"In my opinion, the story is very bad, and it is a very bad attitude towards people in uniform. That should not happen," Zelenskyy said. He noted that Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko briefed him on the details, and both the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense will handle the case in accordance with the law.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 8 during mobilization measures. According to police and the Lviv Regional TCC, the conflict began after TCC personnel checked the military registration documents of a man born in 1996, who had been wanted since June 12 for violating military registration rules. After the man was taken to the TCC, another group of servicemen remained at the scene and was surrounded by a crowd. The TCC reported that the crowd acted aggressively, damaging and overturning the service vehicle.

Other officials also reacted: Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, and Military Ombudsman Olha Reshetylova condemned the attack on servicemen and called for the perpetrators to be punished. Police have identified a man who assaulted a law enforcement officer; a 23-year-old local resident was detained in connection with the incident.
