Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that he approved new long-range operations against Russia in response to ongoing Russian strikes. The announcement came after a meeting with Ukraine's Armed Forces commander in chief, Mykhailo Drapatyi, and Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara.

Writing on his Telegram channel, Zelensky said Ukraine is preparing to expand its long-range capabilities, but he did not disclose additional details about the planned operations.

Previous influence campaign

The announcement follows an earlier campaign Zelensky launched in late June 2026, when he declared a 40-day "influence operation" aimed at pressuring Russia to end the war. During that period, Ukrainian forces struck at least 20 Wildberries warehouses, 25 oil refineries, and other oil and gas infrastructure sites inside Russia.

In response, Russia intensified its ballistic missile strikes against Ukraine.
