Zelensky to attend Ramstein meeting – Rutte

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be present at the next Ramstein-format meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced on Tuesday, June 17, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will attend a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format. Rutte made the statement ahead of a NATO defense ministers' meeting in Brussels, scheduled for June 18.

Rutte revealed that he had the honor of hosting Zelensky at his residence on the evening of June 17. The president arrived in Belgium to participate in the upcoming contact group meeting.

Earlier, at the start of the Ramstein meeting on April 15, Rutte stated that NATO allies will provide $60 billion in military support to Ukraine in 2026. This amount does not include the 90 billion euro loan from the European Union, which is also destined for the Ukrainian army.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov then reported that several countries announced new contributions to the PURL scheme during the meeting. Under this scheme, NATO countries and other partners purchase American weapons for Ukraine.
