During the visit, he would attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham and hold a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump to continue peace negotiations aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
Zelenskyy has reportedly been invited to Senator Graham's funeral. The itinerary, including the full list of meetings, attendees, and the duration of the visit, has yet to be finalized. Sources indicate that discussions are underway regarding who would lead the Ukrainian delegation if Zelenskyy is unable to attend the planned events.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham died suddenly on the evening of July 11 at the age of 71. His office stated that preliminary examination findings pointed to damage to the aorta as the cause of his sudden death. On July 10, Graham met Zelenskyy in Kyiv and visited the production facility of defense company SkyFall, which manufactures many well-known drone models with various roles.
