Zelensky: Ukraine developing its own Starlink-like satellite system
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the country is developing its own satellite system similar to Starlink, aiming to secure access to new technologies.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that his country is working on building its own satellite system designed along the lines of the Starlink service operated by Elon Musk's SpaceX.
According to Zelensky, there are already concrete results from this development work. He stressed that the main goal of the project is to give Ukraine access to modern satellite communication technologies.
Starlink has become a critical part of Ukraine's communications infrastructure in recent years, including for military purposes, providing internet access in areas where conventional infrastructure has been damaged or is unavailable. Developing an in-house system would allow Ukraine to reduce its dependence on an external provider and strengthen its technological independence.
Zelensky did not elaborate further on the project's timeline or which institutions or partners are involved in its development.
