Zelenskyy: Ukraine still has not closed US$4 billion funding gap
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine currently faces a roughly US$4 billion shortfall needed to finance state needs, which has not yet been covered.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters that the country currently faces a funding shortfall of about US$4 billion needed to cover state expenses, according to Ukrinform, which cited the president's remarks to the press.
"We are struggling with a certain challenge right now — roughly US$4 billion that we need at present. We need it very much. So far, we have not closed this deficit," Zelenskyy said.
Part of the sum already identified
According to Zelenskyy, the Ministry of Finance has identified potential sources for around US$3 billion of the required amount, though the relevant agreements have not yet been finalized.
The president added that Ukraine has already found a mechanism to cover most of a previously identified budget deficit through bilateral support and agreements with the European Union.
Talk of a US$12 billion loan
Zelenskyy also said there is political will to provide Ukraine with a US$12 billion loan next year.
